More Jewellery Organising Ideas

WellSorted clients and Facebook Group followers have very generously shared their fantastic jewellery organising ideas with me over the years. These innovative and creative displays are too valuable not to pass on, so I’ve dedicated yet another blog post to showcase them for you.

This post carries on from one that I wrote a couple of years back, however if you’re like many (yours truly included), your jewellery collection has likely grown in this time and might be in need of a revisit!

Whether you have an extensive collection or are limited with space, there are a multitude of storage options available to you. Better still, with a dash of creativity, it’s possible to arrange your jewellery without the need for a conventional jewellery box.

Drawer Storage with Compartments:

If you have limited countertop space, you can use an empty drawer in your dresser or nightstand to store your jewellery. You might even consider investing in drawer organisers with various sized compartments. These can be perfect for accommodating different types of jewellery, keeping everything neatly organised and easily accessible.

Alternatively, you can create the function of divided compartments to organise your pieces by using anything from an egg carton to a small Tupperware container. Whatever you have on hand that will work.

Hanging Storage with Compartments:

Hanging storage solutions with compartments are a great way to maximise space in your closet or on the back of a door. Like a garment bag for your jewels. A hanging organiser with clear pockets provides a handy way to store and display your jewellery. And keep it tangle-free!

3M Hooks on Door or Mirror:

For necklace lovers, knotted chains are a constant threat. Rather than allowing necklaces to intertwine in boxes or pouches, opt for wall-mounted hooks to maintain each strand separately and securely. 3M hooks offer the advantage of being easily repositioned or removed without causing damage to surfaces. This budget-friendly storage solution is also ideal for those with limited space.

Sliding Necklace Rack:

A sliding necklace rack is another practical solution for preventing tangled necklaces. Install a rack inside a closet or cabinet door, ensuring that each necklace has its own hook or slot. The sliding feature allows you to pull out the rack, making it easy to select the necklace you want without disturbing the others.

Repurposed Scarf Rack:

Repurposing a scarf hanger for jewellery storage adds a decorative touch to your space while keeping your accessories organised. The loops of the scarf hanger provide convenient hooks for hanging necklaces, bracelets, and even earrings. You can hang the hanger on a closet rod, hook, or wall-mounted organiser, turning it into a functional and stylish jewellery display.

I made them white so I could see the earrings better.  The downside to this storage is the amount of oxygen the jewellery gets, which means more polishing!

Earring Stand:

An earring stand is a great way to showcase your earring collection while keeping it organised. Opt for a stand with multiple tiers or branches to accommodate various styles and lengths. Display the stand on your dresser, vanity, or shelf to add a decorative element to your space while keeping your earrings readily accessible.

WellSorted Tip:

Before investing in storage solutions, begin by decluttering and sorting through your jewellery. Gather all your pieces and categorise them based on your preferences and frequency of use.

Review your collection thoroughly before considering any purchases. Once you have a clear understanding of what you own, research the most suitable storage options. As if you have a lot of earrings, versus necklaces or bracelets, this will alter the storage you choose :)
